Zambia

why join us

Advance God’s kingdom in the beautiful nation of Zambia

Zambia is a country full of energy, faith, and potential. Around 65% of Zambia’s population is under the age of 25, yet more than 3.3 million Zambian youth, roughly half of the youth population, are not in education, employment, or training, and close to 30% of adolescents report depressive symptoms. Free education has opened doors, but only about 56% of Grade 7 students move on to Grade 8, and just 40% of school-age children complete secondary school, with rural communities feeling the gap most. The constitution declares Zambia a Christian nation and around 95% of the population identifies as Christian, yet familiarity with faith does not always mean the Gospel is understood. There is a growing desire among young people to find purpose, and Zambia needs missionaries who are compassionate and ready to positively impact their lives.

Come serve with us! Zambia is waiting for you!

DR Congo

why join us

Advance God’s kingdom in one of the largest countries in Africa!

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) is a vast and resource-rich country located in central Africa. It is the second-largest country on the continent, covering over 2.3 million square kilometers. The country is home to a diverse population and boasts an array of natural resources, including minerals like cobalt, and diamonds. However, DR Congo has faced significant challenges, including political instability, armed conflicts, and humanitarian crises. Despite this, the Congolese people are known for their resilience, strength, and deep sense of community. The spirit of survival and optimism in the face of adversity is a hallmark of their identity.

Help us reach the lost and bring the hope of Jesus to this nation!

Statement on Applications from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

At this time, we are unable to accept applications from individuals in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) due to ongoing conflicts and instability in the region. We deeply value our connections with those in the DRC and remain committed to monitoring the situation.

As people of faith, we stand in prayer for those affected by the violence, including the 70 Christians who were tragically beheaded. We encourage you to join us in praying for peace, protection, and strength for all those impacted. You can read more about this heartbreaking situation here: Open Doors Article – Persecution in the DRC

We are grateful to report that all members of Pais in the DRC are safe as of this update and have left the city of Goma. For updates on the broader situation, please visit: https://www.crisisgroup.org/africa/central-africa/democratic-republic-congo.

We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to stay connected with us for future opportunities.

Statement on US Visas (Updated January 14, 2026)

Recent media reports about changes to U.S. visa processing have caused some understandable confusion. Applications for the Pais Apprenticeship can continue as normal, and eligible applicants are still welcome to apply. Our team remains available to guide each person through the appropriate process based on their individual situation.

the details

Who we are looking for, and what we provide.

Bring Pais to your nation

If you are an individual, couple, group, denomination, church, or network eager to bring Pais to a new nation, we are excited to meet you!
If you are an individual or couple interested in pioneering Pais and becoming a National Director, please read on for information concerning the role, training, onboarding, compensation, and application process. If you are a network or organization, you can also bring Pais to your nation and we offer a ‘plug and play’ resource for your youth and training departments please click here for details.

Who we are looking for: The National Director must be proactive. Ideally, you will have some experience in ministry, perhaps on a smaller scale, with a longing for greater influence and impact for the Kingdom. Joining Pais will give you that opportunity, along with access to an established organization with programs, training policies, and a philosophy of ministry already in place. We are a discipleship-driven and Kingdom-centric organization. We seek individuals who prioritize the Kingdom of God and are dedicated to fulfilling His mission. We value those who are eager to grow personally as they help others grow. You don’t need extensive experience, but you must be passionate about discipling people into the Kingdom, placing His mission above personal ministry.

Key Skills:
• Communication
• Recruitment
• Networking
• Training

What you would do: A National Director’s role involves growing Pais through recruiting and training apprentices, helping churches run the Pais Youth Academy, and providing Pais resources to churches through our Allies program. A detailed role description can be downloaded below.

What we provide:  Pais offers infrastructure, onboarding, mentoring, and substantial logistical support, including programs, policies, and systems. Our dedicated team of specialists provides support and direction in key areas such as Training, Personnel, Communication, Finance, and Media.

You will also receive monthly mentoring and other input from our Founder and Global Directors, Paul and Lynn Gibbs.

Pais is not a franchise; it is a relationship. Joining Pais means becoming part of a family of people living life on mission, with a strong emphasis on connecting with one another, even remotely. Many Pais nations are led by married couples. We are all part of something bigger than ourselves, team players building the Kingdom rather than mini-empires, and we are excited to welcome like-minded followers of Jesus to join us!

What you will earn: National Directors earn a salary from Pais. This is partly connected to the size of Pais in the nation where they are serving. A ‘mature’ Pais nation will provide a National Director with a healthy full-time salary and benefits. If a National Director is planting Pais in a new nation, there is also some ‘seed’ money made available by Pais. However, for a period of time, they may need to raise external financial support. We can direct you to various ways to do this and assist you in the process.

Note: Due to our unique financial model, most money raised by Pais in a nation goes towards the staff that lead it, such as the National Directors. If you are good at connecting with people and sharing vision, you can find funds quickly. However, please note that those driven by money will not be a good fit for the role. The only good reason to lead Pais is to advance the Kingdom of God and be part of a group that shares the same desire.

Hope to apply: At this stage of interest you may wish to use the enquire button to ask more questions. However, if you would like to know more about our application process, or apply now, then click on the apply button for more details.

In Summary: We are always looking to start Pais in new areas. If you want to bring the mission of Pais to your nation or a region you are passionate about, please contact us!

Connected through the shared borders in the European Alps and Lake Constance, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland form the so-called DACH region. In the past, there have been multiple Pais teams in Germany impacting young people across the country, and approx. 900 Germans were sent to advance God´s Kingdom in nations around the globe. We want to build on this tremendous legacy by restrengthening our existing work in Germany and pioneering Pais in Austria and Switzerland with joined forces. We focus on three areas.

1. Planting new Pais teams in the DACH region.
2. Equipping churches and Christian leaders in the DACH region with our kingdom-centric teaching and methodology in evangelism, discipleship, and bible study.
3. Recruiting people from the DACH region to advance God´s Kingdom with Pais abroad.

We are excited about what lies ahead of us and looking forward to building God´s Kingdom with like-minded people who share our vision: That one day every Christian in the DACH region makes the Kingdom of God their primary concern and is equipped to do it the way Jesus modeled it.

Why join us?

Connected through the shared borders in the European Alps and Lake Constance, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland form the so-called DACH region. In the past, there have been multiple Pais teams in Germany impacting young people across the country, and approx. 900 Germans were sent to advance God´s Kingdom in nations around the globe.

Now, Pais DACH is building on this legacy by planting new teams, equipping churches with Kingdom-centric training, and sending missionaries abroad. Our vision is to see every Christian in the DACH region make God’s Kingdom their primary concern—and be equipped to live it out like Jesus. Are you one of them?
