Pete is married to Bryony and they have two amazing daughters called Isabella and Jasmine. Pete joined the Pais Project when he was 18 in the year 2000. After being on a team in Burnley, he moved to Manchester to work alongside Paul Gibbs as part of the National Leadership team before becoming the Pais England Director in 2004. Pete & Bryony are also the Young Adults Pastors at Life Church in Burnley and Pete is also one of the Founders of Burnley High School, a Christian Ethos Free School opened in Burnley in September 2014.
Pete is also a passionate Liverpool Football Club fan, loves coffee shops, dabbles with percussion, inspired by the life & music of Keith Green, reads a lot, drinks soya milk & loves eating curry.
Pete’s passion is to see people discover their place in God’s great mission to restore and redeem the world. Pete and the Pais England directorship dream of seeing Great Britain become truly GREAT; a nation where Churches seek first God’s Kingdom and propel people into mission; a nation where young people have their identity shaped by having a relationship with Jesus and a nation famous for reflecting the Kingdom of Heaven.
Pete is using the Circle-Shape as his catalyst. A Circle brings unity, cooperation and charisma to a team.

What others say
As a movement we have always had churches who have had Pais teams and who have connected with Pais, but over the past few years AOG GB has sensed a growing connection with Pais England and the excellent work they are doing. Pais England is helping churches from many different streams and is helping the local church to be more effective in ministering to children and young people. Pete Baker the Pais England national director is a man of humility, character and has a passion for the work of the local church and works tirelessly to position Pais in a place to serve the church in the UK!
The Pais Project is among the most impressive. Their unique blend of first-rate training, personal development, quality services and community action enables them to transform the lives of their interns and the many children and families they serve. To anyone thinking of joining The Pais Project I say, “Sign Up.” To those thinking of deploying one of their teams I say, “Book ’em!” And to anyone thinking of supporting their work I say, “Please help!”
I have worked alongside Pete and Bryony Baker for the past three years; they are servant leaders! They have developed a national organization in the UK that any of us would be proud to put our name to and more importantly they have mentored, equipped and released hundreds of disciples into the mission field.
I have known Pete Baker as a friend and a fellow leader, and he is exemplary on both accounts.
Pete leads from the front and sets the direction and pace for others to follow, he is an excellent communicator and has a gift that challenges lives of the young and the old.
He is an inspiring person and his enthusiasm and passion for Jesus is contagious – spending time with this “God Loving and People Loving” guy will seriously challenge the way you see and do mission!
